It is the end of October as I write this, and every year about this time something truly magical happens at our place: The Monarch butterflies make a stopover on their way to their wintering site in central Mexico. We have a lot of post oak and blackjack oak trees on our property, and the Monarchs seem to find these hospitable places to roost on their long journey southward.
